This site can't be completely institutional.  Our founder and King, Kyle Rokee, will now bless you with humorous tales in his search for Karaoke across the land.

Maybe someday he'll tell us who gave him his nickname.

It's a way of life

In your travels around the country -- for business or pleasure -- you may hit a few malls, antique shops, museums, sporting events, or comedy clubs. I look for karaoke bars. So I'd bust out my trusty laptop (I'm one of those weird Macintosh guys) in my hotel room and I'd Google for the local crooner's corner, looking for web sites about where to find KB's, what style they are, what days they whale, and to whom they cater. I found no such sites. So I started one.

Welcome to KaraokeWorldTour.com. Soon you'll find a database of clubs and bars where you can serenade your drink, or drink to someone else's passionate song. Or drown your sorrows because of "that guy" (you know who he is) who butchers every song he tries. And he practices at home all day because he can't keep a job. I digress...

The point is this: Document your own world tour right here at Karaoke World Tour. It's not just a web site, it's a way of life. I'm not making any money on this thing, but let's make it great anyway. I need to know where you've been, how you liked it and whether you'd go back. Write it out in my Blog, and post it for everyone to see.

Coming soon, you'll find articles on stage presence, singer's etiquette, success stories, crazy stage names, maybe even some KJ equipment and karaoke downloads. We'll also have some funny stories about drunken crooners if you're not entertained by the rest of this stuff. If there's something you want to see on karaokeworldtour.com, just email me. In the end, we--meaning you and I--will have a database of clubs to choose from in our travels... or in our own backyard.

See you on tour.

Kyle Rokee
